Founded in 1960, Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) is a multi-disciplinary, municipal key university combining engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, art and education. In September 2017, the university officially entered the ranks of national first-class discipline construction universities, and eight disciplines were ranked among the top 500 in the 2020 QS World University Rankings, and ranked 32nd in the QS 2020 World University Rankings. The university is ranked 32nd in mainland China, and six disciplines – engineering, materials science, chemistry, environmental science and ecology, computer science, biology and biochemistry – are in the top 1% of ESI.
