The National College of Art and Design is an important institution in Ireland when it comes to art and design education. The college offers the largest range of art and design degrees in the state at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The most impressive feature for prospective students is definitely the fact that the National College of Art and Design is the place where many of the most important Irish artists, designers and art teachers have studied or taught in the College. The College now has 1,000 full time students, six hundred students who are taking evening courses and it clearly became a central element in the art and design educational institution in Ireland.Education of The National College of Art and Design is known for having high standards, but students choose the university for its qualitative course and projects. The College has four Schools; Design, Education, Fine Art and Visual Culture. A tutorial system operates throughout the College and many of the courses are project based. Students’ progress is monitored at the end of projects, and by examination at the end of each year.
