Founded in August 89 of the Republic of China (8 academic year), the original name of the department was “Department of Applied Arts and Design”, the Department of Applied Arts and Design is the first department in China to innovate the name, with scientific new knowledge and cognitive concepts to support the new art of modernity and sensibility, cultivate design talents in line with aesthetics, modernity and world view, and cultivate first-class design talents with rigorous and solid academic foundation, new courses and excellent teachers.

In August 94 of the Republic of China (8 academic year), it was approved to establish a “master’s program”, in line with the national cultural and creative industry policy trend, focusing on the development of the design industry and creative industry, the course planning of the department was originally more focused on the design direction, and the original department name covered a wide range, in order to make the department name more compatible with the curriculum planning, and cater to the development trend of the industry to cultivate design talents, so that students can more directly understand the direction of the department, so in August 94 (100 academic year) of the Republic of China officially changed its name to “Department of Creative Product Design Master Program” In August 8 (academic year 100), the name was changed again to “Department of Product and Interior Design Master’s Program”, and we are actively working towards the development of the field of product and interior design.
