I am currently engaged in the study of ethnic minority garments, with a focus on the Hezhe people's traditional fish skin clothing. This academic background has deepened my understanding of the relationship between material and culture, and has shaped my design approach to emphasize both structural language and material expression. In my creative practice, I do not limit myself to traditional themes. Instead, I pursue a modern design expression based on an independent aesthetic perspective. For this competition, I have chosen to explore the unique qualities of cow leather, aiming to build a collection that emphasizes experimentation and visual impact. I focus on the sculptural potential of leather, its texture, and how it interacts with the human body—striving to create designs that are both structured and wearable. Through this competition, I hope to challenge new ways of expressing materiality and present original works that reflect a personal design language and artistic vision.
