Hello everyone, my name is Pei-Yu Chen, and I come from Taiwan. This piece gradually took shape through a collaborative process with my partner. We both love fields and nature, so our inspiration comes from those quiet places that are, in fact, full of life. What we wanted to create is not just something defined by function or appearance, but a piece with warmth—something you can almost feel—and a sense of life. We kept thinking: if even stones can sing, then perhaps leather can also tell a story. So from design to making, I focused on every detail, hoping the work would not just be completed, but would truly grow into something with a life of its own. I’m very happy to have this opportunity to participate in the competition, and I hope you can feel what we wanted to express through this piece. Thank you.

To bring the characters from fantasy into reality, we use linen and leather as the primary materials, layered with hand-stitching techniques and raw elements gathered from the field. The garments feel as though they have grown from the earth itself—imbued with wildness, innocence, and a touch of the uncanny. Like pages of a fable being turned, an egret emerges between the field and imagination, weaving a fantastical journey where nature and the human spirit intertwine—stitched into an absurd fairy tale that can be worn.
