Ling Tung University

I am currently studying in the Department of Creative Product Design at Ling Tung University. To me, design is not merely about the accumulation of forms, but a process of identifying gaps in everyday life and addressing them through aesthetics and functionality. My sensitivity to detail originates from observing my father during my childhood. Back then, our living room often served as his experimental space. I watched him quietly examine ordinary objects and transform or refurbish them with his own hands. That sense of purity—not making changes for the sake of change, but to improve everyday life—planted a seed in my heart. I have come to realize that the best innovations do not necessarily aim to be unconventional. Instead, they often emerge from unconscious behaviors. Through quiet observation, it is possible to create thoughtful solutions that carry a sense of warmth.

FOLDED SHADOW

Competitions: Taiwan Region

The core technical feature of the design is “heat dissipation,” an intricate process that transforms light energy into thermal energy, and then into an olfactory sensory experience. Light is not only used for illumination; it also carries the function of heating essential oils. The accordion-like structure reveals rich layers under light. As the viewing angle shifts, the interplay of light and shadow appears to “flow.” It feels like a “frozen instrument of time,” evoking the sense of long, lingering passage of time.
