UNIFACS universidade de Salvador

I am a Fashion Design student at UNIFACS in Feira de Santana, Bahia. My work is rooted in the understanding of leather as a natural, durable, and biodegradable material derived from an existing cycle, serving as a counterpoint to disposable synthetic materials. My research engages with slow fashion, circular fashion, and the longevity of clothing, advocating for pieces that age with meaning. I integrate sustainability, Brazilian cultural identity, and material consciousness as both an aesthetic and ethical strategy against the excesses of fast fashion.

This piece is an ode to the ocean's vastness. On the bust, overlapping layers of leather in various shades narrate the depth of the waters, while silvery textures capture the exact moment when sunbeams kiss the crystalline surface. In contrast, the fluidity of the lower drape in lightweight fabric emulates the serenity of the waves, lending movement and delicacy to the silhouette.
