BONEFALL

The inspiration for this piece came from a photo I took of myself at the beach. In the image, I stood between sunlight and waves—strong, yet with a softness that felt almost vulnerable. That moment made me reflect on the body—not just as a symbol of strength, but as something that time and nature can slowly erode. Starting from that feeling of being both resilient and worn down, I imagined a coconut tree growing a skull instead of fruit—something that falls, breaks, and becomes part of the sand. The palm leaves became rib-like lines, and the lace and wave-textured leather represent the traces left by the sea. This bag is a way of carrying that moment with me—a personal story transformed into an object. The bag’s form draws from the linear spread of palm leaves, reimagined as rib-like structures. These lines are translated into layered leather panels, creating a rigid yet organic silhouette—like a silent skeleton that shelters the bag’s interior. The design blurs the boundary between plant and body, expressing the shared fragility and resilience of nature and human life.
