Shih Chien University

Hello! My name is Liebee Abigail, and I am 16 years old. I was born on February 10, 2007, in Indonesia. My family consists of four members: my father, mother, and younger brother. My brother is two years younger than me; he is 14 years old and currently in 9th grade. I started kindergarten at two and a half years old. My first school was BUDI MULIA Private Elementary School, where I studied until graduation. I continued until the second year of junior high school before transferring to BINA NUSANTARA International Private School until my final year of high school. I have always loved the arts. This all started when I was in elementary school and was frequently invited to participate in arts competitions at schools in other prefectures (such as Bandung, Bogor, and Depok). I participated in some traditional dances and even won first and second place. I actively participate in social activities and constantly seek new knowledge. Confidence is one of my main characteristics. I am very curious, and as a student, I am eager to explore and learn many new subjects. I bravely face challenges and easily adapt to new situations. This has been my attitude since I was a child. I personally enjoy socializing and actively participate in school clubs and various activities. From elementary to high school, I participated in clubs such as "Interactive," "Bye Bye Plastic Bags," "Student Council," "Sports Club," "Orchestra," "Painting," and "Basketball." My most memorable experience was being chosen as the publishing manager when I joined the "Goodbye Plastic Bags" club during my sophomore year of high school—one of my best high school experiences. My job in the club was managing all the decorations for social media and events, and I also supervised club members to ensure they completed their tasks on time. In addition to these tasks, I was also entrusted with creating merchandise for the club and reselling it throughout the school.

Threads of Resilience

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Taiwan Region

This project is a leather competition design inspired by spiders and Javanese culture. I used the idea of spider webs to influence the structure of the top, especially in the sharp and extended shapes on the shoulders and sleeves. These elements represent strength, resilience, and protection, reflecting how a spider carefully builds its web. The design focuses on strong lines and a structured silhouette to express a bold and confident look. Leather is the main material used for the top because it can hold its shape well and create a sculptural effect. It gives the outfit a modern and powerful appearance, which is important for standing out in a competition. Working with leather also highlights craftsmanship, since it requires precision, technique, and careful construction to achieve the final design. The material choice supports the concept by enhancing the structured and slightly edgy feel of the piece. To balance the strong leather top, I added a Batik skirt to bring in a softer and more traditional element. The Batik patterns represent Javanese culture and add detail and richness to the overall look. This contrast between the structured leather and the flowing fabric creates harmony in the design. Overall, this project combines nature and culture into a modern outfit, showing both strength and elegance while blending traditional and contemporary fashion.
