Spin-to-Win

Category: Apparel

Competitions: International

‘Spin-to-Win’ is a six look collection, inspired by retro bowling and arcade games. The aim of the project is to upcycle disused bowling shoes, to prevent them from ending up in landfill. They will be sourced, washed using eco-soaps and then the leather will be engineered into a range of garments. The shoe fastenings will be used as the main design features and the rest of the clothing will be constructed using leather scraps from GHleathers, who only use skins that are a by product of the meat industry. This project captures the nostalgia of vintage bowling alleys and the playfulness of arcades, while working towards an environmentally friendly fashion future and contemporary trends in 2023.
