The bag explores the idea of stepping out of a comfort zone — my own cocoon. The swirling form at the center represents the uncertain thoughts of someone in their 20s, who has not yet been able to break free, held back by fear and a lack of confidence. However, the colors begin to spread, struggle, and gradually distort the protective shell of that comfort zone. They start to break through the cocoon and reach toward action — extending outward to begin doing something, to escape hesitation. For me, that action is picking up a brush and painting like a child; even if it is imperfect or unrefined, I still do it. The handle of the bag is designed as a hand connected to brush tips, merging with the flowing lines of color, expressing the connection between thought and action. The design does not celebrate perfection, but the process. Imperfection, unfinished lines, are proof of the courage to face oneself and step out of the comfort zone. That is why I named it “RAWING” — “raw” meaning rough and imperfect, “drawing” meaning lines of expression, and its pronunciation echoes “growing.” It represents both the act of drawing and the process of becoming. Sometimes, the first step does not need to be perfect. As long as we are brave enough to begin, even in our most unrefined state, we are already breaking out of our own cocoon. It is through this effort that we grow stronger, just like a butterfly that must struggle to emerge while its wings are still weak — yet it is precisely this effort that allows its wings to become beautiful and strong enough to fly and embrace new possibilities.
