My name is Trần Hoài Nam, a third-year fashion design student at Văn Lang University in Vietnam. My design approach is shaped by observing everyday habits and subtle human behaviors. I am particularly drawn to small, often overlooked details, using them as a starting point to explore and transform into a visual language within fashion. My current project focuses on bathing habits — a daily routine that is both familiar and deeply personal. I am interested in how water interacts with the body, and how sensations such as wetness, friction, and temperature shifts create a mix of comfort and discomfort. These sensory experiences are translated into silhouettes, materials, and construction, allowing garments to reflect a sense of transformation and instability. For me, fashion goes beyond aesthetics; it is a way to capture experiences and reinterpret the relationship between the body and its environment. I see clothing as a medium that can express both physical and emotional states, where even the most ordinary actions can become meaningful. Through my work, I aim to create designs that balance softness and structure, familiarity and tension. By reimagining everyday rituals, I seek to build a new visual narrative that feels both intimate and thought-provoking.
