Through the concept of carrying tools, this design reconsiders the role and significance of land in contemporary life. Farmland is not only a site of production, but also a system defined by division and order, embodying the relationship between humans and nature while reminding us of restraint and circulation in the use of resources. In modern society, bags serve as carriers of work essentials and daily belongings, extending personal movement and lifestyle. In contrast, the shoulder pole, as an essential tool in traditional agricultural societies, carries harvested crops, transforming the land’s produce into resources for everyday living. These two establish a parallel in both function and behavior, forming the basis for design translation and reflecting the flow of resources from production to use. This design further translates the spatial logic of farmland into the structure of the bag, while adopting the carrying form of the shoulder pole to shape its overall appearance. Through its use and interaction, the bag reflects the processes of distribution, carrying, and access. At the same time, a modular and detachable system is introduced to enhance flexibility and extend the product’s lifespan, reducing the likelihood of obsolescence due to single-function limitations. In terms of material selection, durability and longevity are prioritized. The use of leather allows the product to develop a natural patina over time, reflecting the sustainable design principle of extending the product lifecycle. Within the fast-paced rhythm of contemporary life, the design seeks to reconnect users with the land, transforming the bag from a functional object into a medium that carries cultural meaning, everyday memories, and sustainable values.
