Atelier - Pattern Cutting, Menswear, Apparel

Hello, my name is Adela. I am a fashion design graduate student from the University of Brighton. I specialise in Menswear, and bespoke tailoring, with a strong interest in pattern cutting. I use Adobe applications and the CLO3D basics to design and manipulate shapes. In my final year of studies, at the University of Brighton, I developed a keen interest in leather which I intend to explore in my university follow-up project. The focus of my leather project is to create elegant motorcycle garments that offer protection as many riders choose not to wear any. Therefore, riders do not need to give up on protection. Every project represents a challenge and I am excited to present what I am most passionate about.

PROTÉGER L’ÉLÉGANCE

Category: Apparel

Competitions: UK, International

PROTÉGER L’ÉLÉGANCE About 50% of the motorcycle riders choose not to wear protective gear because of a style choice. My project intends to create protective garments that allow riders to keep their style. Many of them ride a vintage looking bike such as a Harley Davidson that requires a certain elegant vintage look. Through my apparels I decided to combine modern protective gear making techniques with bespoke tailoring quality standards in order to create long-lasting pieces that offer the look these riders strive for. I was particularly drawn to a vintage sleeve jacket due to its uniqueness. The sleeve jacket covers the areas that need most protection: shoulders and back. Its practical use and construction make it a very versatile piece that was worth exploring. Check out the video presentation: https://youtu.be/TVKw-gb06Z4
