Benedetta Braghetti

Accademia Costume & Moda

Dear Committee Members, My name is Benedetta Braghetti, I am 22 years old, and I am from Rome. Following my studies at a linguistic high school within the ESABAC program, where I obtained a dual Italian and French high school diploma, I chose to combine my passion for fashion with art and my natural inclination for craftsmanship. Consequently, in July 2026, I will complete my studies at the Accademia di Costume e Moda in Rome. Thanks to this path, I have acquired in-depth knowledge of costume history, fashion design, and particularly men's and women's accessory design. This is the branch of fashion I chose with passion and dedication, leading me to participate in my Academy's Talents 2026, which concluded on April 11th with an evocative fashion show in Rome. The core project of my training consists of a women's accessory capsule collection, featuring 6 bags and 5 pairs of shoes, developed from a personal concept centered around my sport, diving from from trampolines and platforms. More than a name, this accessory design collection is rooted in the Arabic word Zenith, meaning "the direction of the head." If we imagine a line extending from our gaze to its highest possible point, we arrive at the zenith: the apex, the moment of maximum elevation. This idea mirrors the peak a diver reaches at the height of a rotation. It is a discipline that embodies the meeting of two worlds the solid stillness of air and the fluid depth of water. A dive lasts only three seconds. An instant, yet within it unfolds a deeper tension: the contrast between Chronos measured, linear time and Kairos a suspended, qualitative moment where everything converges into a single, decisive action. It is the moment of release. After a brief pause, you push off the platform and surrender your body to an invisible drawing. Zenit is not just the name of the collection; it is a reflection on time. It invites us to recognize those fleeting. instinctive moments where action and awareness become one and reminds us of the value of time itself. Through accessory design, I wish to convey a personal vision born from the intersection of passion, discipline, and aesthetic research. For me, this competition represents the ideal opportunity to give further voice to this journey.
