Hello! My name is Augusto, I am 22 years old and a Fashion Design student based in São Paulo, Brazil. My journey is shaped by the intersection of technique, creativity, and purpose. I hold a degree in another field and a postgraduate specialization in sustainability, which broadens my perspective on developing products with environmental responsibility — a value I bring into every creation. Currently, I specialize in the construction and pattern making of bags, exploring leather as a material for expression, durability, and identity. I have a strong interest in processes, finishes, and in creating pieces that combine aesthetics and functionality. I see design as a tool for transformation, capable of valuing materials, techniques, and narratives. Participating in this competition represents a unique opportunity to expand my repertoire, exchange experiences, and reinforce my commitment to innovation and sustainability within the world of leather.

The Origami Tote is a leather bag that merges structural design, material integrity, and sustainable thinking. Developed from a unified cutting plan, the piece transforms a flat surface into a three-dimensional form through precise folding, eliminating the need for linings, reinforcements, or metal hardware. Crafted from vegetable-tanned full grain leather, the bag relies on the natural strength of the material to achieve a self-supporting architecture. Its construction combines industrial precision with artisanal finishing, including burnished edges and a leather-based closure system. Designed as a timeless essential, the project emphasizes durability, functionality, and longevity. It proposes a minimalist and responsible approach to luxury — creating a product made to last, age with character, and be passed down across generations.
