I was born is Southwestern, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Livestock and Leather Technology at Makerere University’s College of Veterinary Medicine ,Animal Resources and Biosecurity. My interest is to design school shoes that are affordable in terms of price. Growing up, my parents couldn’t afford to buy me school shoes so I literally went to school bare footed. For this reason, I promised myself to help school shoes to access shoes without a hustle. We intend to partner with charity organizations to buy these products at a fair price. I conceived the idea of making school shoes from my upbringing.

Project idea for solving ongoing to school bear footed

Category: Footwear

Competitions: Africa

ABOUT THE PROJECT •This project will capture the production or the making of leather school shoes out of cowhides but will be teamed up with cotton material and some rubber or the inside part. •The project is aimed at solving the problem of children who move long distances to and from school and yet have no shoes or wear worn out shoes because of a less durable material used. This has left many children with deformed feet, Bunions, calluses, Fracture, plantar fasciitis, stress and also shabby. •Leather shoes are more durable which makes them an excellent investment leather uppers are more much softer than other uppers and when treated well, they are water resistant and naturally strong and very comfortable. •Uganda produces a lot of leather therefore material acquisition is not a problem.
