Reconstructed Memories:

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Taiwan Region

The fashion industry is one of the major contributors to global waste. As someone who finds it hard to throw clothes away, I wanted to repurpose used garments, bags, and shoes by reconstructing them into new silhouettes. By piecing together small fragments of leather into large pattern pieces, I aim to reduce waste and breathe new life into discarded accessories. Fast fashion has led to an overwhelming amount of clothing and accessory waste. Through this reconstruction process, I seek to redefine these objects by merging patterns from garments, bags, and footwear — turning the old into the new. By blending materials of various textures and origins, I explore the limitless possibilities of what fashion can become. The theme is called Reconstructed Memories because clothing and accessories are things we carry with us every day — they accompany us, shape us, and eventually become a part of who we are. They hold our memories. Through this project, I aim to transform these familiar items, distorting their conventional forms to create new memories and a renewed sense of self.

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Taiwan Region
