Hannes Schaller

Hochschule Reutlingen

Hannes Schaller is a Fashion Design graduate from Reutlingen University, Germany. His work combines conceptual thinking, material exploration, and wearable design. Driven by a critical perspective on the fashion industry, he questions the role and responsibility of designers within contemporary systems. Working exclusively with deadstock materials, he approaches sustainability through action rather than rhetoric, creating garments that balance function, structure, and meaning.

Artists‘ Fear

Category: Apparel

Competitions: International

Artists’ Fear explores the anxiety of rejection, invisibility, and the pressure of constant evaluation within creative practice. Inspired by the repetitive cycle of applying, being rejected, and starting over, the collection translates these experiences into structured silhouettes, repetition, and controlled forms. Perforated deadstock leather plays a key role by introducing unpredictability into otherwise systematic constructions, creating a dialogue between control and vulnerability. Combined with deadstock textiles, the project demonstrates how existing materials can be transformed into contemporary garments with conceptual depth, functionality, and lasting value.
