Lorena Prieto

Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas

I am a Fashion Design student at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, Brazil, with a practice grounded in accessory design and creative craftsmanship. My work explores the relationship between material, form, and identity, often translating organic references into contemporary pieces. Alongside my academic journey, I run my own atelier, where I develop handmade bags and accessories through a close and collaborative process with clients. This experience has strengthened my sensitivity to functionality, personalization, and storytelling in design. I am particularly interested in material experimentation, combining traditional techniques with new approaches to create pieces that balance aesthetics, purpose, and emotional connection.

Everleaf

Category: Accessories

Competitions: Brazil

This project presents Everleaf, a leather bag inspired by the elegant form of the Ginkgo biloba leaf, a symbol of longevity and resilience. The proposal explores the relationship between nature, time, and design, translating the organic movement and delicate geometry of the leaf into a sculptural piece. Guided by biomorphism, the design investigates the dialogue between permanence and transformation, combining the durability of leather with the experimentation of new materials. Among them, bioplastic — a material derived from renewable sources — is incorporated into selected details, introducing lightness, innovation, and a more conscious approach to the project. The piece balances tradition and innovation, merging artisanal techniques with a contemporary language. More than an accessory, Everleaf proposes a reflection on the enduring beauty of nature and conscious consumption, resulting in a timeless object that carries meaning, identity, and purpose.
