This creation is inspired by a painting I made years ago during a low point in my life. It captures the emotions I felt at that time, fused with the transformation I’ve experienced since. Through this piece, I want to convey strength to those brave individuals who are fighting their own darkness somewhere in the world. Searching for light in the midst of darkness can feel nearly impossible, but eventually, we realize that the light has always been within us — we were the ones who covered it up. With this work, I want to give them strength and remind them that they are not fighting alone — that they are the heroes and saviors of their own lives. I also hope they can find their own ray of sunshine. In this outfit, the shoulder design resembles a gun handle, symbolizing the strong and resilient mindset we can possess, like a weapon. The worn and tattered textures represent past wounds, while the wide hem of the lower half signifies the protective power we hold within ourselves.
