Welll, I am a self taught designer. I have always had a passion for designing handbags and clothing from a young age. With my parents being involved in the leather industry it gave me more confidence in my skills as they provided keen guidance in my work. I have always wanted to do something that would revolutionize the world of design and leather seems to have guided me in that direction.

Layers

Category: Design

Competitions: Africa

My design is called ‘Layers’ and I was inspired upon a visit to my village in Mberengwa in Zimbabwe. As we were driving back I got the chance to sit at the boot of the truck and experience the layers of mountains in different shades and textures. I sat in silence for 20 minutes before realizing what nature had inspired me to create. A story of the layers of heritage and nature our nation of Zimbabwe has preserved.

Weaving the Nation

Weaving the Nation is exactly what the leather industry is looking for in the world of design. A new design that incorporates weaving and leather to create beautiful natural leather products that are long lasting and appealing to the customer.
