The "Qian"series draws inspiration from the mysterious and ancient honeysuckle pattern. Honeysuckle patterns were prevalent during the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, evolving into scroll patterns during the Tang Dynasty. This historical transformation sparked my interest in its study. The series utilizes genuine leather, employing a technique of piecing together scrap leather pieces, effectively utilizing leather scraps. It preserves the natural colors of leather and incorporates the honeysuckle pattern intricately into the leather through laser engraving, creating a unique artistic and layered texture. The design not only emphasizes environmental sustainability by repurposing materials but also blends modern and traditional elements, giving each garment a unique texture and narrative. It provides a new perspective on the application of traditional patterns on leather.
