Meiyin Chen

Hello, I'm Meiyin Chen (Mia), a fashion and textile designer currently based in the United States. My practice centers on the structure, tactility, and transformability of textiles, with a particular focus on modular systems, knitwear, and material experimentation. I am interested in how soft materials operate between the body and space—how repetition, connection, and transformation can generate both physical support and emotional resonance. Alongside making, I maintain a strong interest in writing and research as part of my creative process. For me, design is not only about form-making, but a way of thinking slowly and attentively—through materials, through the body, and through the relationships we build with our surroundings.
