Ceren Sahin

NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti

I am Ceren Şahin, an aspiring fashion designer from Türkiye and an incoming Bachelor of Fashion Design student at Domus Academy NABA, where I will begin my studies in October 2026. I believe art exists to serve society and to create meaningful dialogue. Guided by this belief, I approach fashion as a powerful form of expression, exploring human emotions, empathy, and the connections that shape our lives. As I continue to grow as a designer, I hope to create work that is both conceptually strong and emotionally resonant.

The Buoyancy of a Tear

Category: Apparel

Competitions: International

This design embodies the paradox between physical burden and emotional weightlessness through an avant-garde silhouette. The structural foundation of the garment represents the density of suppressed emotion, while the fluid textures across the surface symbolize the precise moment before a tear falls—the tension of a droplet gathering, fully charged with silent meaning. The forms are constructed to convey the metaphor of buoyancy; they celebrate the instant where heavy sorrow resists gravity, hovering in a state of suspended transition. The asymmetric cuts and ethereal, gravity-defying details capture that fragile heartbeat before release, turning the body into a canvas for catharsis. By blending crystalline, textured surfaces with fluid, light-refracting fabrics, this design redefines the body not as a vessel for pain, but as a site where emotion transcends its weight to become a form of graceful elevation.
