University of Industrial Fine Art

I am a final-year student majoring in Fashion Design at the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts. I am deeply inspired by objects that embody the essence of Vietnamese tradition. Through my creative work, I aspire to develop designs that reflect the identity and spirit of the Vietnamese people, while contributing to the preservation and promotion of the country’s traditional crafts.

Lục Vân

Category: Accessories

Competitions: Vietnam

“Lục Vân” is a 100% handcrafted bag accessory that harmoniously combines leather with traditional rattan weaving. The piece is created from leather panels that are laser-cut into fine strips, then skillfully interlaced with rattan fibers. No machinery is involved—only human hands and time-honored knotting and weaving techniques come together to form the final “Lục Vân.” Using traditional “nong mốt” weaving techniques—both dense and open—of rattan and bamboo craftsmanship, this piece is a 100% handmade artisanal bag that is environmentally friendly. It is designed to carry a phone and small personal items, offering convenience for hand-carrying or attaching to an existing bag strap. The design is inspired by the form, character, and humble soul of the Vietnamese people. It also serves as a tribute to artisans of rattan and bamboo weaving—one of Vietnam’s long-standing traditional crafts. More than just an accessory, “Lục Vân” represents a bridge between modernity and tradition, with the aspiration to preserve and sustain Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage.
