Growing up, I watched my mother, an artisan, bead on leather, which sparked my initial interest in this versatile material. The intricate process of her work fascinated me and became a cherished memory, inspiring my creative pursuits. When I decided to look for a side hustle, making leather bags felt like a natural choice. I began making leather bags, drawing inspiration from various designs and incorporating my artistic skills. This journey led me to launch my brand. It’s been a rewarding experience to see my designs come to life and to share them with others.

The Bug Bag

Inspired by the intricate design and environmental significance of bugs, this Cross-body bag is crafted to raise awareness about the importance of small actions in protecting our planet. Bugs play a vital role in our ecosystem, from pollinating plants to breaking down organic matter and controlling pests. They remind us that even the smallest creatures can have a big impact on our environment. The Bug Bag embodies this concept, encouraging individuals to adopt small, sustainable habits that collectively make a difference. Design Inspiration: The Bug cross-body Bag's design is modelled after the shapes and patterns found in nature's most hardworking insects. Materials: It will be handcrafted blending modern design with traditional techniques. It will be made of real leather, recycled brass plates for some parts of the bag and some beadwork, a captivating homage to my Maasai cultural heritage. This bag will not only support environmental sustainability but also empower my community. This project is a fusion of environmental consciousness, cultural preservation, and innovative design.
