Menswear, Bags, Atelier - Pattern Cutting

I am Yonatan, an Israeli fashion design student who finds joy in merging urban and minimal aesthetics in my creations. My designs embrace the art of leather crafting and handbag design, incorporating intricate details and elements. Drawing inspiration from the digital realm, gaming, and 3D design, I fuse these influences with graphic elements, visual communications, and industrial design. Through my work, I strive to create a harmonious blend of diverse influences, resulting in unique and captivating fashion pieces

Upcycled cuts and scraps

Category: Apparel

Competitions: International

For this project, I drew inspiration from the concept of recycling and the inherent beauty of leather as a material. My main objective was to recycle leather scraps, rather than relying on full hides. The coat is Crafted from an assortment of leather scraps, hides sourced from various designers, factories, and upholstery. To further reduce waste, no additional materials such as hardware and lining fabrics were purchased to create this coat. Instead, I made use of everything available at home, maximizing the resources at hand. As part of the design, detachable canvas bags are attached to the shoulders, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the garment. Apart from the coat the pants and top are also made from scrap lambskin and cowhide. This upcycled coat is a conscious effort to reduce waste, promote resourcefulness, and inspire to think creatively about consumption habits.
