NOTCHED COLLAR TROUSERS

This design merges structured tailoring with cultural expression and street style nostalgia ,I drew inspiration from notched collar _traditionally seen on jackets and blazers ,and reimagined it within the waistband and opening of a pair of trousers. This unexpected placement transform a classic formal details into a bold , fashion-forward statement. I combined this tailored structure with the silhouette of old- school R&B baggy pants to evoke a sense of comfort , rebellion, Rhythm _a tribute to the expressive freedom of 90s and early 2000s music culture. To ground the design in my identity and heritage ,I incorporated Ankara on select areas of the trouser. Using it’s vibrant patterns and texture to highlight movements and detail. The used of Ankara not only adds visual contrast but also center the African craftsmanship within the contemporary ,urban aesthetics . The results is a garments that tells a layered story ; one of cultural pride ,musical influence and creativity reinvention.
