Fashion Designer/Stylist for Jayda with a. Y Currently studying Fashion Design, Photography, Fashion Merchandising, and Product Development. I am a designer, stylist, painter, textile designer, and photographer. My love for travel and people-watching inspires me. The different styles I grew up seeing modeled me to want to create something that people can use to express themselves. I love the stories it tells. The object you can make is truly limitless and something everyone uses every day. I thrive in a work environment with great communication because everyone can share their ideas, be heard, and produce great work. I am the founder of Jayda with a Y. I started this brand as my starting point. Where I can grow to be the designer I want to be and experiment more, I use it to show my growth over time. My goal is to make Jayda with a Y, a lifestyle brand that provides many services from garments, wardrobe styling, closet reorganizing, paintings, and logo designs. I want to help my customers have fun and explore many possibilities with their style. I am a hard worker and even take my skill to help and be active in my community. I love assisting others to work in a team because, at the end of the day, I learn new things about the people around me and help fuel my art.

Don't Spiral

Don’t spiral This bag was inspired by a spiral print that I made to reflect fun and whimsy. With that inspiration, I took one of the spirals and enlarged it, and kept the original pattern as the side design. I wanted this bag to be a visual statement, but also helpful; the kind of bag you use for all your needs. I incorporated details including a wallet pocket in the back, rounded pocket lining so items are not lost in corners, and another pocket inside the bag. In addition, I like to design with some transformational detail, so for this bag, I focused on the straps, having the bag be both a cross-body and a baguette bag. I like this design because it gives the wearer a choice in how they want to both wear and style it. With the production of the bag, I also saw it as an opportunity to repurpose old leather through patchworking to make the face and back of the bag. Patchworking the leather gives it a range of textures and uses some of the colors of leather that are already out there and giving it new life. With the side of the bag use dye techniques to make the spiral print and get ranges of value on the leather, continuing the patchwork into the straps. I included the spiral charms throughout the bag because I did want the bag to have a plain moment. This Incorporates something eye-catching as you follow the line of the bag. The adjustable chain idea came from me always altering the straps of my bags to fit what I was doing, so this was just a way for me to have that feature built into the design. List of materials - Deadstock and scraps for leather - Twisted cable Chains - Two zippers (one metal, one plastic) - One two metal zipper - 4 spiral charms (zipper pulls) - Two Snap hooks - 5 D rings - Lining (For interior and pocket)
