A while ago, I went on a short trip to clear my mind and unexpectedly came across a magnificent and graceful church. Surrounded by its serene and sacred atmosphere, I found myself contemplating the symbolic figures of religion and faith. Beyond the commonly known figures like priests, nuns, God, Jesus, or the Virgin Mary, one image suddenly stood out in my mind—the angel. What struck me was how idealized and perfect angels are often portrayed—pure, beautiful, and serene. This very perfection sparked my curiosity. I began to dive deeper into the history and symbolism of angels and was fascinated to discover that their original depictions were vastly different from what we see today. Historical records and medieval art revealed versions of angels that were mysterious, otherworldly, and even terrifying. This unexpected moment of inspiration ignited a strong desire to explore further. I believe that using "The Evolution of Angel Imagery" as the foundation for my design research would be both intellectually challenging and visually rich. It's a theme that allows me to merge history, symbolism, and creativity into one powerful narrative.
