Giorgia Triolo

Istituto Marangoni: Fashion, Art and Design

Fashion Design BFA

Womenswear, Accessories, Product Design

Giorgia Triolo is a final year student of Fashion Design at the Istituto Marangoni Milano. Grew up in Trapani, a small city where life flows slowly. This passion was born observing the mother seamstress, constantly surrounded by pins and fabrics. She is a girl who likes to constantly get involved, because she thinks that every experience, positive or not, always has something to teach, and that only thanks to comparison can we grow. Interested in art, she believes that it can be found in various disciplines, for example music, a great source of inspiration for her works. Sport is also an important part of her life, as it is a symbol of challenge and self- improvement. She considers herself a versatile designer who loves to experiment with new styles that are different from her comfort zone. Despite having his own personal vision, he manages to adapt to teamwork, which he believes is a continuous source of growth and comparison. In one's personal vision there is a look at couture, in contrast with elements that we can define as more "sporty" and unisex, all enclosed in garments where femininity must not be missing. Of its origins, its land recalls being sunny and colorful, these characteristics are found in the bright and vivid colors of the fabrics.

Volver Project Triolo Giorgia

Category: Design

Competitions:

For this project I was inspired by the Spanish director Pedro Almodovar. From here I began to analyze the characters in his films, paying attention to what they were wearing. Noticing that one of his most famous protagonists always wore a cardigan. the analysis of this aesthetic prompted me to go in search of something similar through flea markets, so as to be able to give new life to something used without the waste of new raw materials, until I found the perfect cardigan for my experimentation, so after placing the shirt on the mannequin I started making cuts so as to obtain new silhouettes and then I elaborated through sinuous shapes, cuts, pockets, declining them in several forms, from here the whole creative process started which led me to the definition of the project and its aesthetic identity. Volver means "to return" as well as being the title of the tango sung by Penelope Cruz in a "culminating" scene, which is danced with a rose in her mouth, the leaves of this flower will become the decoration of the skirt, these leather leaves are also designed to make the most of the discarded skin to create the cut-outs of the back. Finally, thanks to the use of new software such as Clo3D, which help in terms of sustainability, I have tried to give a more realistic view of my project, without resorting to the use of canvas prototypes, trying to have less and less impact on the environment.
