PRESSURE LINES BETWEEN HEAD AND SHOULDERS.

Category: Accessories

Competitions: Taiwan Region

Observing the long-standing cultural context in which the human head and shoulders serve as primary load-bearing points, this design aims to reinterpret this natural behavior and translate it into a structural language for modern bag systems. By expanding the contact area between the head and shoulders, the design not only continues this historical method of carrying weight but also incorporates ergonomic principles of pressure distribution. The main body of the bag will adopt a flexible support structure that adapts to various head shapes and shoulder lines. Wide, cushioned pads made of leather or technical fabrics will be added to the shoulder and crown areas to prevent pressure from concentrating on a single point. Additionally, the traditional linear straps are reimagined into curved, wrap-around straps that extend from the crown to the shoulder blades. This multi-point force distribution system helps evenly disperse the load across the neck, shoulders, and upper back.
