Kiska 是加拿大安大Marineland海洋公园内的一頭虎鯨，被圈養四十多年最終在2023年2月9日病逝。早在2021年時就已有報導傳出它因為太孤獨而自殘的影片，我的創作理念由此而生，手提卡其色皮革、扭結的部分象徵著繃帶，意指受傷且心裡扭曲的Kiska，包中鏈條的意象為枷鎖，象徵Kiska被人類綁架，包體的形狀為Kiska的型態所轉換，在世界上有很多被人類圈養而無法獲得自由的動物，例如各種動物園及海洋生物館，我無法想像孤單的被關在一個小房間四十年會怎麼樣，只希望能有更多人抵制這些迫害動物的場所，有人能夠記得基斯卡。 Kiska was a killer whale in the Marineland Ocean Park in Ontario, Canada. He was kept in captivity for more than 40 years and finally died of illness on February 9, 2023. As early as 2021, it was reported that it was too lonely and self-mutilated. My creative concept was born from this. The khaki-colored leather and the twisted part symbolize the bandage, which means Kiska who is injured and twisted in her heart. The image of the chain in the bag is a shackle, which symbolizes Kiska being kidnapped by humans, and the shape of the bag is transformed into Kiska’s shape. There are many animals in the world that are captive by humans and cannot be freed, such as various zoos and marine life museums. I can't imagine what it would be like to be locked in a small room alone for forty years. I only hope that more people will boycott these places that persecute animals, and some people can remember Kiska.
