Joy Wangui

I am a self-taught visual artist and designer, working in two-dimensional art: drawing and painting in various medium, as well as graphic print design. I am currently a first year fashion design diploma student at Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts in Nairobi, Kenya. I am passionate about the environment, wary of the damage inflicted on the planet, and geared towards making a positive mark towards it's restoration through fashion, art and design, that promotes environmental accountability and sustainability. I am a big believe that Africa holds the key to this renewal. By tracing indigenous ethics that are in harmony with nature, we can trace the wisdom in our heritage.
