YA-JHIH SIE

Tainan University of Technology

My name is SIE, YA-JHIH, and I am a Capricorn. I am currently studying in the Fashion Design Department at Tainan University of Technology. I am a rather introverted person and tend to express my thoughts and emotions through drawing. In my free time, I enjoy reading comics, watching animation, and reading novels, from which I draw inspiration for my creative work. Through these interests, I have gradually developed a sensitivity to composition, color arrangement, and character expression, which has helped me form my own artistic style. During my studies and creative practice, I continuously accumulate experience through constant practice and hands-on learning, which helps me improve my observation skills, technical ability, and expressive power. I also try to transform imagination and ideas into tangible works, gradually building confidence in my creative process. By participating in this competition, I hope not only to present my learning achievements but also to challenge myself in a new environment. I aim to broaden my perspective, learn from other participants, and improve my creative thinking through communication and observation. This experience will also allow me to further enhance my skills and accumulate more valuable experience for my future development in the field of design.

Reconstructing Wholeness

Category: Accessories

Competitions: Taiwan Region

This design is centered on the concept of “puzzle and assembly,” using geometric cuts and irregular segmentation to deconstruct the traditional form of leather bags. Each leather piece functions like a puzzle element, allowing both independent use and reconfiguration. By integrating mixed materials and exposed structural details, the design achieves a balance between craftsmanship and functionality, emphasizing a detachable and freely combinable system. The work not only explores the recomposition of form but also responds to the fluid and ever-changing nature of contemporary life, transforming the bag into a sustainable and expandable design language.
