Fashion Institute of Technology

I am a footwear and accessories designer currently studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, after graduating in Fashion Design from Shenkar College in Israel. I am interested in the relationship between materials, craftsmanship, and the way products are made. My work often begins with existing leather goods and explores how they can be transformed into contemporary footwear and accessories through reconstruction rather than replacement. I see leather as a material with history, character, and longevity. Instead of designing around new resources, I enjoy finding new value in what already exists, combining traditional craftsmanship with industrial production to create products that are functional, commercially relevant, and made to last. I believe thoughtful design is about making responsible decisions without compromising aesthetics. My goal is to create products that feel timeless, are built with intention, and encourage a slower, more conscious approach to fashion.

Re-Born to Ride explores how existing cowhide leather can be transformed into contemporary footwear through reconstruction rather than replacement. The project began with a worn cowhide motorcycle jacket that was carefully deconstructed and rebuilt into a hybrid moto-ballet boot. Additional cowhide leather offcuts and surplus leather materials were incorporated into the design, allowing as much of the original leather as possible to remain in use. Rather than treating surplus leather as waste, the project treats it as a durable natural material with lasting value. By extending its life through thoughtful design and craftsmanship, it celebrates leather's longevity, versatility, and potential for continued use. Inspired by the contrast between rugged motorcycle gear and the softness of ballet footwear, the final design balances strength with delicacy to create functional, contemporary footwear. Beyond a single product, the project presents a repeatable design approach that transforms surplus leather into products designed to last while encouraging a more responsible approach to fashion.
