The Unity Necklace

Category: Accessories

Competitions: Africa

My project is a necklace inspired by the powerful statement 'Together We Stand, Divided We Fall. My design, titled ' The Unity Necklace,' features leather as the primary material as it is sourced from environmentally responsible suppliers, repurposed from existing leather products to reduce waste. This symbolizes flexibility and resilience. I've incorporated cowrie shells as ornaments, which hold significant cultural meaning in many African societies, representing unity, prosperity, and heritage. These are sourced sustainably ensuring minimal impact on marine ecosystems. The design will showcase interconnected elements, highlighting the strength that comes from unity and togetherness." My inspiration is from the cowrie shells incorporated from existing jewelry. This has helped me shape my concept to life from initial stages and ideas to final design. The Unity Necklace is design to be timeless encouraging customers to cherish and wear it for years to come. The Unity Necklace project aims to promote Unity and togetherness while advocating for sustainable fashion practices. I hope my Unity Necklace inspires you to reflect on the power of unity and togetherness in your own life.
