TINGYU CHEN

Tainan University of Technology

I am currently a second-year student in the Department of Fashion Design at Tainan University of Technology, with a strong passion for design and aesthetics in everyday life. Throughout my studies, I have gradually developed a keen eye for detail and creativity, and I hope to express my personal style and ideas through my work. As for my interests, I enjoy creating handmade crafts. Whether it is accessory design or other forms of handcraft, the process brings me a sense of achievement and relaxation. I am also passionate about following my favorite idols and listening to music, which not only help me unwind but also inspire my design ideas. In addition, I like playing board games with friends, as it allows me to enhance my communication and teamwork skills through interaction. Baking desserts is another hobby of mine, giving me a chance to enjoy the warmth and joy of life amid a busy schedule. In the future, I hope to continue improving my design skills and combine my interests with my professional knowledge to create works that reflect both aesthetic value and my unique personal style.

Verdant Flow(綠意流動)

This piece draws inspiration from the organic movement of vines, capturing their fluid growth, entanglement, and quiet persistence. The design translates these natural qualities into a belt that feels less like a static object and more like a living form. Leather is used as the primary material for its strength and adaptability, while metal hardware introduces a contrasting sense of structure and precision. The interplay between these materials creates a dialogue between softness and rigidity, nature and construction. Rather than simply referencing nature visually, the design embodies the behavior of vines—the way they wrap, extend, and cling. The belt becomes an extension of the body, shaping itself through movement and interaction, and redefining the relationship between function and form.
