Textile Design BFA

Textiles- Knit, Sustainable Design, Product Design

I'm a 22-year old textile design student from Finland. I'm currently waiting to start my fourth and final year of studies next fall at Metropolia university of applied sciences. I'm most interested in interior textiles for homes and public spaces and womenswear as well. I'm also passionate about sustainability in my design and finding out about new sustainable materials and solutions is very interesting to me. I like to design using hand painted/made sketches and upgrade them by digital means. In my designs the most important thing are simple and minimal beauty, interesting textures and harmonious colour combinations.

On the go

Category: Accessories

Competitions: Nordic Region, International

The core of this project is a functional modular bag for an on the go lifestyle. The modular trend that has been rising for some time already inspired me to make something that could have multiple ways of use, while still being just one bag. The On the go-bag has 3 bags in total that can all be worn/used together or separately depending on your situation and it is made from real forest green leather. On the front of the tote bag there is a abstract laser carved design. During this project I made various sketches and went through various different ideas. Through material sketching, laser cutting tests and prototypes, my ideas distilled into the On the go-bag.
