My work reflects a deep passion and commitment to telling our cultural stories through design while empowering my community. Each piece is a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics, aiming to celebrate Maasai artistry and bring its beauty to the world while providing economic opportunities for indigenous women and local artisans.
Nekoyta Leather is a social impact venture founded in November 2023, whose sole passion is to empower and uplift the Indigenous Maasai community of Kenya. Our products aim to integrate traditional Maasai beading into contemporary leather products, harnessing the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of the Maasai community, bridging the gap between tradition and modern fashion, and offering unique, sustainable products that stand against the fast fashion cycle.
