Ling Tung University

I am a senior student majoring in Product Design, with a core philosophy rooted in "form follows function". My design aesthetic leans toward a minimalist and industrial approach, focusing on clarity and purpose over excessive decoration. I possess advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for precision modeling and am skilled in using KeyShot, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop to bring concepts to life. Beyond digital tools, I have extensive hands-on experience in physical craftsmanship, specifically in woodworking—focusing on KD (knock-down) joinery—and leather design. My current work explores the intersection of design responsibility and the circular economy. For my graduation project (YODEX), I am researching the low-energy transformation of materials such as silt, tin, and carbonized wood. My goal is to develop furniture that emphasizes repairability and environmental sustainability. As both a rational thinker and a dedicated maker, I strive to find the perfect balance between industrial aesthetics and sustainable innovation.

Forest Bell

Category: Design*

Competitions: Taiwan Region

Capturing the symbiosis of nature and craftsmanship, the Forest Bell is a semi-relief, door-triggered leather wall lamp and chime, redefining the entry experience. It mimics a stylized, climbing lily of the valley vine, organically clinging flat to the foyer wall. This functional artwork is built upon an organic brass conduit backbone, meticulously hand-wrapped in rich, 2.0mm vegetable-tanned bovine leather , featuring fine saddle stitching. Each delicate, serial-growing rounded campanula blossom is expertly wet-molded, emitting a soft, 2700K LED glow. The Forest Bell is actuated by the kinetic physical collision of the opening door edge, acting upon a discrete, concealed mechanical sensor embedded within the flexible leather-wrapped 'Hit Point' at the vine base. This triggers the serial lighting (Residential Version) or the clear 'ping' of an embedded handcrafted brass bell (Commercial Version). The lower, 3.5mm thick leather leaves are sculpted via load-bearing wet-molding into functional catch-all trays for keys, coins, or smartphones. The Forest Bell is a testament to sensorial luxury, blending tactile leather craft, light, and sound into a personalized entry ritual.
