I am from Malaysia and currently studying in the Department of Fashion Design and Management at Shih Chien University in Taiwan. This is my first time participating in a leather-related design competition. Although I have no prior competition experience, I am passionate about leather craftsmanship and hope to learn more professional skills and creative expression through this competition.
In underwater operations or drowning accidents, those trapped need to rely on self-rescue, mutual rescue, and proper response to buy time before rescue arrives. Similarly, marine ecosystems, when suffering from garbage pollution, resource waste, and damage from bad human habits, are also in a long state of "waiting for rescue." Coral reefs and marine life cannot change the current state of pollution on their own; they can only rely on humans to reduce littering, decrease plastic use, and improve their living habits to gradually repair the damaged natural environment. Therefore, whether it's rescuing lives or protecting the ocean, "waiting for rescue" reminds us that true change not only comes from external assistance but also requires everyone to take initiative, starting with themselves, to bring sustainable hope for life and the environment.
當人類持續大量產生垃圾，無視自然環境的重要性，生態系統便遭受嚴重破壞。這種對環境的忽視反映出我們缺乏對大自然的共情能力，然而自然界其實也會對這些傷害產生反應。唯有提升我們的環境意識與共生理念，才能真正實現綠境共生，守護地球的永續未來。
When humans continuously produce large amounts of waste and ignore the importance of the natural environment, ecosystems suffer severe damage. This disregard for the environment reflects our lack of empathy toward nature; however, the natural world does respond to these harms. Only by enhancing our environmental awareness and embracing the concept of coexistence can we truly achieve a harmonious green environment and safeguard the Earth's sustainable future.
