Đề tài lấy cảm hứng từ hình ảnh tàu lá dừa đan thủ công trong đời sống miền Tây Nam Bộ – biểu tượng của sự thích nghi, khéo léo và nhịp sống vùng sông nước. Từ sự đối lập giữa mềm – cứng, mong manh – bền vững của lá dừa, bộ sưu tập khai thác tinh thần đan lát như một hệ cấu trúc tinh tế. Chất liệu da được lựa chọn nhờ khả năng giữ phom nhưng vẫn linh hoạt, kết hợp các kỹ thuật gấp nếp, đan xen và xử lý bề mặt để tái hiện cấu trúc lớp lang của lá dừa. “Dệt dừa” không chỉ chuyển hóa chất liệu tự nhiên thành thời trang đương đại, mà còn tôn vinh giá trị thủ công bản địa, vẻ đẹp của dấu vết thời gian và sức sống bền bỉ của con người miền sông nước. “Tôi không thiết kế túi xách – tôi dệt ký ức thành vật phẩm mà thời gian không thể xóa mờ.” The project draws inspiration from handwoven coconut leaves in the daily life of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta — a symbol of adaptability, craftsmanship, and the rhythm of river life. Through the contrast between softness and rigidity, fragility and durability, the collection explores weaving as a refined structural language. Leather was chosen for its ability to maintain form while remaining flexible, combined with techniques such as folding, interlocking, and surface treatment to recreate the layered textures of woven coconut leaves. “Dệt Dừa” is not simply the transformation of natural materials into contemporary fashion, but a reinterpretation of local craftsmanship that honors vernacular heritage, the beauty of timeworn imperfection, and the enduring spirit of the people of the riverlands. “I do not design handbags — I weave memories into objects that time cannot erase.”
