SHELTER: The Second Skin explores the human need for protection, comfort, and belonging in an increasingly uncertain world. Inspired by the emotional bond between mother and child and the protective structures found in nature, the collection investigates how fashion can become a wearable refuge. The project uses leather as both a symbolic and functional material, representing strength, resilience, and care. Through cocoon-like silhouettes, layered forms, and enveloping volumes, the garments create a sense of security while preserving freedom of movement and individuality. Drawing inspiration from natural shelters such as cocoons, nests, shells, and protective organic structures, the collection translates these references into contemporary fashion pieces. The designs balance craftsmanship, innovation, and emotional storytelling while highlighting the unique qualities of leather. SHELTER reimagines leather not only as a durable material but also as a medium for expressing human connection, transformation, and emotional protection.
