Footwear & Accessory Design BFA

Accessories, Footwear, Bags

Hello My name is Sara Veneziano, I'm from Salerno, I'm 25 years old. Without a doubt at the age of 15 I decided to attend art school, where I learned all the drawing techniques from watercolour, my favorite technique, to oil painting. After I obtained a three-year degree in Fashion Design and subsequently a first level Master in Accessories Design. I'm interested in fashion, especially footwear and leather goods. Thanks to the Master, I grew both academically and personally with different experiences. I’ve done industry projects for companies such as Fendi, Ferragamo, Furla e Russo di Casandrino. I think that Rome is a great place to be for creatives, because is full of inspiration. I’m sure that even Amsterdam would be a city that could inspire me. I chose to take this path because my father is a shoemaker, so he gave me a strong sensitivity through this world in which I've been immersed since I was a child. I did a two-month internship in a tannery with Russo di Casandrino I worked for a while at Hibourama, an accessories brand, where I take care of hand-woven bags with the Macramè technique. I am able to work in team and to work under stress. I’m always researching for inspiration, by looking at art expositions and by reading articles about what happens in fashion. For my drawings I use a mixed technique, the drawing is by hand while the rendering is digital, with Procreate. I also know how to use the Adobe Package, Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. During my training I have never stopped because im a very persistant person and I have always pushed myself beyond my limits. I don’t like to be on my confort zone. I love my passion and hope to keep achieving all my dreams.

I(M)PERFECT

When something breaks, instead of hiding the fracture we can enhance it, learning to accept the defect or what is not perfect. In this sense, signs of wear increase the value of an object and repairs highlight its history. Perfection is about embracing our imperfections by trying to improve ourselves. I (M) P E R F E C T is aimed at enhancing the concept of defect through the creation of a material that deforms in the manufacturing process by reusing defective leathers. Through certain procedures developed with the reduction of water and electricity through a long phase of study and research, the defects are enhanced by acquiring greater visibility and importance.
