This project was inspired by the story of the 52-hertz whale, often known as “the loneliest whale in the world.” The whale communicates at a different frequency, making its calls unheard by others. The whale became a symbol of isolation and disconnection. The concept was to take the emotion into visual forms: distorted lines and whale-inspired tones. Elements such as sound waves and silence represent loneliness, hidden emotions, and quiet communication.

Climate change signifies a long-term transformation in the Earth’s weather patterns. Inspired by the symbolism of temperature color, I chose red to represent heat and blue to represent cold. Despite their contrasting meanings, these two colors are brought together in a reversible bag design—allowing it to be worn on either side. This concept reflects the abrupt and unpredictable nature of climate change, capturing the balance between extremes in a single, functional form. The design takes inspired by eco-friendly paper bags, highlighting effort to reduce environmental impact.
