Department of Fashion Design, Shih Chien University.

I am a student in the Department of Fashion Design at Shih Chien University. I enjoy observing the aesthetics of different eras, and I’m especially drawn to vintage styles. From clothing and music to everyday objects, anything that carries a sense of time makes me want to explore it further. In my designs, I often try to reinterpret vintage elements by combining them with modern materials or silhouettes to create my own expression. To me, vintage is not just about nostalgia—it’s about viewing the past through a contemporary lens and finding ways to connect it with the present.

Ding ding ding— As soon as the school bell rang, my friends and I would excitedly pull out our paper fortune tellers, chanting the steps like a magic spell as our fingers opened and closed in the directions of East, South, West, and North. It wasn’t just a game; it was a time when we shared laughter, secrets, and childhood memories. Each flip of the paper marked a quiet buildup of trust and affection between us. This time, I’ve combined it with Taiwan’s retro flower tiles, merging the game from my memories with the beauty of the land, allowing the patterns to carry my emotions. Each open and close of the paper is more than just a motion; it’s a way for me to converse with my past self. This creation is a gentle reflection on my childhood, my hometown, and the memories that have shaped me.
