Shih Chien University

I navigate the space between commerce and creativity, between necessity and excess. As a sales manager by trade and a fashion designer in becoming, I exist at the intersection of industry and imagination. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Fashion Design at Shih Chien University in Taipei, I use my academic and professional experiences to critically examine the systems that shape desire and consumption. Clothing, to me, is more than fabric and form; it is a language of power, identity, and illusion. In a world where shopping often replaces meaning, I ask: What are we really covering? What are we really consuming? Through exaggerated silhouettes, layered textures, and over-embellished constructions, I seek to expose the psychological and environmental costs hidden beneath the glittering surface of style. My creations embody tension—between beauty and discomfort, attraction and repulsion. They are garments, but also questions. Sculptures, but also confessions. I create not to offer answers, but to complicate comfort. In the folds and seams of each piece, I invite viewers to pause, to question the fashion system, and perhaps to confront their own role within it.

This apparel design inspired by the double helix structure of DNA, it's not only the blueprint of life, but also a metaphor for the intertwined relationship between humans and nature, between technology and emotion. Through exaggerated braided forms and leather weaving techniques, the garments reconstruct the silhouette and redefine the act of wearing, turning fashion into an organic extension and a medium for dialogue on sustainability. Structural Language: The voluminous braids shaping the lower body visually echo the double helix, expressing a sense of entanglement — of strength, memory, and continuity. Material Choice: Utilizing biodegraded leather reflects a commitment to circularity and ecological responsibility, embedding sustainability into the essence of design. Wearing Experience: The braided garments resemble a second skin — wrapping, supporting, and expressing identity — symbolizing the uniqueness of every individual’s genetic and cultural code. This collection conveys a simple yet powerful message: “Every thread we weave — like every choice we make — shapes the future of our planet.”
