CHIN-SHU LIU

Shih Chien University

I usually like to observe nature and people around me, from the shape of plants, changes in light and shadow, to emotional reactions in daily life, these details often become the source of inspiration for my designs. To me, creating is not just a piece of work, but also a way to organize my thoughts and express my feelings. I like to work with my hands, experiment with different materials and ways of expression, and slowly turn the images in my mind into something that can be seen through clothing and other objects. I hope to continue to tell stories with my designs in the future, and leave my observations and feelings in my works.

Cocoon of Butterfly Shadows

Category: Footwear

Competitions: Taiwan Region

A butterfly trapped in a glass box gently flaps its wings, casting an uneasy but determined shadow. This is a story about “struggle” and “transformation”.Using cocoon as the starting point, it chronicles a journey from self-repression to the awakening of the soul. The butterfly is a symbol of my desire for freedom; the wings are the shape of my emergence from the cocoon. The silhouette of the shoes is inspired by the wings, showing the power of asymmetry and movement; the openwork and cracks are the scars left behind when I broke the cocoon, but also the proof of rebirth.Through these shoes, I would like to convey a message: even in the midst of shadows, we can still soar towards the light.
